The annual Leavers Service was held in St Luke’s church today. The children were all presented with Bibles and achievement certificates.
Year 6 put on an amazing performance of The Greatest Show - it certainly was!
This year marks the 60th Anniversary of our school moving to our current site on Shady Lane. We took all the children to visit the old 2 class school (now the Chistadelphian Hall on the A6). Heather Wakelin, a pupil at the old school, came to talk to the children.
Later in the week we had a celebration day when we all enjoyed dressing up in clothes from the last 60 years.
On a very wet morning Year 2 and 3 enjoyed a range of activities in Lancaster as part of Dinofest.
The weather was very kind as we enjoyed our annual Sports Day and community picnic.
Our Reception children had a wonderful day in the Lake District on the Haverthwaite railway, Lakes Aquarium and on Lake Windermere.
Year 4 had a great time at the Dark Ages event at Judges Lodgings.
Our Year 6 reps had a great time at the Rotakids Annual conference learning about supporting a range of charities and community projects.
Year 3 have had a great two days and one night on Hadrians Wall. We visited Housesteads and were enlisted into the Roman army by a real Roman soldier, explored our home for the night at Birdoswald, went on a walk, explored the museum and did an artefact handling session.
Some of the new recruits may now need a good sleep!
Year 6 spent a great day at the Museum of Lancashire in Preston on Friday deepening their understanding of life in WW2.
