Maths

Maths is fun! We aim to allow children to explore numbers, shape, space and measures and acquire the skills to be able to use and apply maths skills in life.

The 'What my child should be able to do' at the end of the curriculum page gives very clear indications of the maths covered within each year group and related expectations.

EYFS children cover the content in 'Development Matters' for Maths, currently using some of the materials from the 'White Rose Maths' scheme.

 

Over the past 2 years we have been introducing the new Lancashire Red Rose Maths scheme of work as each new year group has been launched. This is a progressive scheme that builds and develops on previous learning and allows for extension and deeper learning. Currently (2023 - 2024) Years 1 - 5 are on the new scheme and Year 6 will be added in September 2024.
