I am sending home a high frequency word activity book for the children to practise their key word spelling in. There will be no 'formal' spelling test on the first week back but we will have a spelling quiz based on the words found in their activity book.
I will be sending 2 reading books home for the holidays. Please also enjoy sharing books together and encourage free reading.
You can also read some lovely ebooks on Oxford owl. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/
In class we have been thinking about measure and the different units we use to record measurement. Discuss with your child the units we use to measure height/length (centimeters cm and metres m), weight/mass (grams g and kilograms kg), capacity (mililitres ml and litres l), money (pounds £ and pence p). Can you find any of the symbols we use in every day life? EG: Food packets, instruction books, recipes, money, till receipts.
Christmas Themed English and Maths Activity Books
Here are some Christmas themed English and Maths activity booklets that your child may enjoy completing over the holidays.
Please also have a good rest.
I am so incredibly proud of Year 2 and what they have achieved this term. It has been very busy and a little bit different but the children have shown amazing resilience and a fantastic attitude towards everything. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year.
