Listen, learn, love and laugh as part of God's family

World Week, Week beginning 18th May

This is for the adults there! I don't know if any of you are big space watchers, but tonight is the start of a few nights when the International Space Station will pass over us. I saw it last time it went overhead and it was amazing - quite magical even! Tonight will be too late for children, but you might enjoy watching it. There are lots of websites which give details about times & directions. If you see me standing in the middle of the road in the middle of the night, you know what I'm doing!!

Hello from Mrs Cunningham

World Week

This week in school would have been our 'World Week'. We usually explore a different country on each day of the week, but this needs so many resources that I don't want to ask you to do that. I think it would be a good idea for you to choose a country - perhaps one you already know about, or one which you have visited and work on that one.

It would be great if you could include:

  • find the country on a map, look at where it is in relation to England
  • name the capital city
  • have a go at speaking some words in the country's language
  • consider what it might be like to live there
  • explore food from the country
  • does the country have any strange traditions?

You will hopefully think of plenty of activities to add to these and I look forward to seeing what you get up to!

As usual, I have included the English plan from Lancashire - it ties in nicely with White Rose Maths for Home Learning this week, I do hope you have plenty of worms in your gardens!!!

It would be great for you child to do some writing about worms this week!

Remember to keep going with the spellings and reading from Oxford Reading Owl too.

How are the PE challenges going?
