Our spelling words for this week are:
(Don't forget to practise at home for a Dojo!)
In English we will be role playing and creating story boards so we can retell the story of Jack in the Beanstalk. Our grammar work will be focusing on using conjunctions to join or add to a sentence.
This week we will be concentrating on addition and subtraction, solving one and two-digit problems, exploring the purpose of the = sign and using our knowledge to solve some missing number problems.
In science we will be exploring the properties of materials by performing an investigation. Can a material be squashed, stretched, bent etc., and what does this tell us?
This week we will learning about the different roles there would have been in a castle and applying for our own positions in our imaginary Year 2 castle. Who will apply for the position of cook? Who will be a servant? Who is brave enough to become a knight? Who will get the unfortunate position of the gong farmer?
Our PE day is a Wednesday. Children should come to school in their PE kit on this day. We will also be using our Nature Area each Friday for Forest School activities, so please remember your coats!
'To do's' will be set on Purple Mash for the children to complete, based on what we are learning. We will also be focusing a lot on online safety.
