English

In English we received a letter from Jack, from Jack and the Beanstalk, explaining that he had stolen a magic hen from a giant. He has asked Year 2 to reply to him and advise him on what to do. Should Jack return the hen or keep it for himself? We will be writing letters with our suggestions this week.

Maths

We will be continuing to focus on place value this week. Looking at how many tens and ones are in two-digit numbers, comparing and ordering numbers and partitioning numbers in different ways.

Science

We are looking at materials and their properties in science this term. This week we will be exploring the materials used in umbrellas. We will then be designing a silly umbrella and an ultimate umbrella.

Theme

Continuing on our castle theme, we will be designing our own family crests to display on our castle themed wall in the classroom. Watch this space for some photographs of what we come up with.

PE/Outdoor

Our PE day is a Wednesday. Children should come to school in their PE kit on this day. We will also be using our Nature Area each Friday for Forest School activities, so please remember your coats!

Computing

'To do's' will be set on Purple Mash for the children to complete, based on what we are learning.
