Slyne-With-Hest St Luke's Church of England Primary School

Listen, learn, love and laugh as part of God's family

Thursday June 18th

Hello again year 4 (and parents),

Last week, we emailed each Year 4 family. Thank you to everyone who replied – it was lovely to hear from you. If you haven’t seen our email, please check your email folders, including ‘Junk.’ If you haven’t received it, we may have an incorrect email address for you. Please update us or the school office with your current email address.

Here are this week’s learning ideas and activities.

As always, please don't try to complete them all!

Please use whatever is helpful for you.

I look forward to hearing what you get up to this week.

The Great Bug Hunt

The winner was Eli with his fantastic poem and model of a raft spider.

Your prize will be on its way to you soon, Eli! Well done!

Reading

This week it’s all about The Secret Lake by Karen Inglis. What will happen to Stella and Tom next?

Other reading opportunities.

Chapter 11 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is now available at the Hogwarts at Home hub.

J. K. Rowling is also publishing a new story online – The Ickabog. A few chapters are published each week and it’s an exciting read!

This year’s summer reading challenge (in conjunction with the libraries) is to join the Silly Squad.

Get rewards, play games and earn badges as you discover awesome books to read this summer!

Have you joined in yet? For full details and to sign up, visit the website.

Maths

Arithmetic

Remember that the arithmetic sheet has the answers and some hints on the second page!

The small group sheet is for the children who usually work with Mrs Bennett and Mrs Savage.

Shapes

This week it’s all about angles. There’s some revision of types of angles, followed by activities to identify, compare and order angles.

For an extra challenge, try the number of the week and interlocking rings activities.

Science

This week we’re finding out all about local habitats.
