Slyne-With-Hest St Luke's Church of England Primary School

Listen, learn, love and laugh as part of God's family

Thursday 16th July

For the final time this year, hello again year 4 (and parents),

It was lovely to see so many of you visiting school last week.

We hope you enjoyed coming back to see us and meeting up with your friends.

Now it’s the last week of term! What a strange year it’s been!

Here are some learning ideas and activities for this week.

Please use whatever is helpful for you, but remember that it is the last few days of term. We wouldn’t still be following a timetable if we were in school, so don’t worry if you’re winding down towards the holidays.

I hope you have a lovely summer and I look forward to seeing you all when we return to school in September.

Paul Cookson has been recording some lockdown poetry performances and workshops.

Try this one all about teachers!

Watch him perform his funny poems, then watch his step-by-step guide to creating your own!

Last week, Cressida Cowell (the author of the How To Train Your Dragon books) held a ‘Summer Camp’ to celebrate children’s creativity. She was joined by a host of amazing authors and illustrators, including Chris Riddell, Francesca Simon, Rob Biddulph and Sarah McIntyre.

Science

Last week we found out about how humans can cause environments to change in both good and bad ways.

This week, it’s time to take action!

How could you improve your local environment for wildlife?

Feed the birds / carry out a litter pick / make a bug house?

For lots more ideas, have a look at the RSPB website.
