This afternoon we have started our Science topic on forces. We have been investigating how different toys move and what force we might use to make them move.
Thank you to everyone who took part in our rock competition. We have had lots of wonderful rocks to look at throughout the topic and we have enjoyed learning about the different types of rocks and how they are formed. Congratulations to the winners of our rock competition - the categories were very close but below you will see our worthy winners!
As part of our rocks topic we have learned about how fossils are formed. We also had a go at making our own fossils.
Year 3 have been working really hard this half term learning all about bones and skeletons. We have had a go at making a human skeleton using dog biscuits and have started to learn the scientific names for lots of different bones. We have learned what the function of a skeleton is and even had at go at making some moving hands! We have looked at animal skeletons and we understand the difference between a vertebrate and an intervertebrate. A super start to Science in Year 3!
