Worship 2024 - 2025

Each year we mark the key events in the Christian calendar with services and special acts of worship. Some of these are in school and some in our local parish church, St Luke's.

Harvest Festival

Our worship group helped to lead the Harvest Festival service, which this year was held in school. We collected food for the foodbank and shared in the Bishop's Harvest appeal. Year 6 wrote prayers exploring national and international themes:

Advent

We prepared for Advent by lighting a candle each Monday in worship representing the Advent themes. We also counted down using our special advent calendar. All the children in Years 2 - 6 designed an image based on the Christmas story and 24 were selected to be revealed day by day as we travelled through the season.

Year 6 children also designed their own Jesse tree - linked to their work in RE. This demonstrated how Jesus came to fulfill the prophecies and how he linked into 'God's Big Story'
