Welcome to Year 3! I am Mrs Jennings and work full time in Year 3 as the class teacher. I have my PPA time on a Wednesday morning and so during this time the class is taught by Mrs Gregory. Our classroom assistants are Ms Burrow and Mrs Overfield.

JANUARY 2026
Welcome back to the spring term. Lots of exciting things are planned for this term. We will start our learning by delving into what life was like in the Stone Age. Always a popular unit with the children. This will also provide some work for us to share with you in our class assembly. This is scheduled to take place just after the half-term break on FRIDAY 27th FEBRUARY at 9.05am. I hope to see many of our parents there.
We also have an exciting dance workshop to look forward to on Friday 20th March. This is being hosted by The Royal Ballet – a great opportunity for all the children to be active and have fun whilst learning about the world of dance. Look out for a letter with the details in the next few weeks.
The choir children are looking forward to the trip to the Young Voices concert in February. I will be accompanying the children to this event so please let me know if you have any queries/questions.

SEPTEMBER 2025
We’re thrilled to begin a new chapter of learning, laughter, and growth together. In Year 3, children can look forward to exploring fascinating topics across subjects—from diving into ancient civilisations in history to investigating forces and magnets in science. We'll be building confidence in reading, writing, and maths, while also nurturing independence and teamwork through collaborative projects and hands-on learning.
Our Year 3 curriculum also includes a deep dive into Roman history—culminating in our unforgettable summer term residential to Hadrian’s Wall. Throughout the year, pupils will also take part in a class assembly and school productions, giving everyone the chance to shine and build confidence.

Our classroom will be a warm, inclusive space where we listen, learn, love and laugh as part of God’s family. Guided by our school Bible verse, “Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11), we’ll nurture a community where kindness, resilience, and curiosity are celebrated.
Please have a look at the tab on the right for information about Year 3, including the curriculum news updates which are added to the section each half term. I have also included the 'Welcome to Year 3' letter which will be sent home in the first week back and our class timetable below.
