Slyne-With-Hest St Luke's Church of England Primary School

Listen, learn, love and laugh as part of God's family

Mission Statement, Vision and Ethos

The school Mission Statement was agreed by the whole school community:

Listen, learn, love and laugh as part of God's family.

These words are very important to us and they underpin everything we do in school:

We believe that:

  • we are part of a community and as such need to listen to each others views and opinions and learn to get along;
  • we are here to learn - while it is vital that we engage with the teaching and learning of the basic skills (reading including phonics, writing and maths) we also want to learn about God's amazing world - its history, the wonderful places to discover and the diversity that the world contains. We want to develop team work as well as learning and exploring new and exciting activities and life long skills;
  • all should know that they are individually loved by God and special to him. We want to work and learn in a school where that love is visible in all our relationships and in how every member of the school is treated and valued;
  • coming to school is enjoyable and fun! We want to laugh together as we learn!

Our Mission statement and vision is also linked to our chosen Bible verse from 1 Thessalonians 5 v 11

School Vision Statement

At St Luke’s Slyne-with-Hest Church of England Primary School, we are committed to promoting the highest possible standards of teaching and learning, to enable everyone to fulfil their potential. We will always put the best interests and well-being of the children at the heart of everything we do.

Our vision is to empower everyone to acquire, demonstrate, articulate and value knowledge and skills that will support them, as life-long learners, to participate in and contribute to God’s global world and practise the core Christian and British values of the school.
